Wilson Signs with U.S. Merchant Marine Academy

Today marks a significant milestone for Archbishop Shaw High School senior Mason Wilson as he officially signs to play football with the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. Wilson, a standout quarterback and running back, has been instrumental in leading the Eagles to their first state championship since 1987.​

Throughout the 2024 season, Wilson showcased his dual-threat capabilities, amassing over 1,500 passing yards and more than 1,000 rushing yards. His leadership and athleticism were pivotal in Archbishop Shaw’s playoff run, culminating in a thrilling victory over E.D. White in the LHSAA Division II Select state championship game. In that matchup, Wilson contributed significantly, including a 21-yard touchdown run that tied the game in the second quarter. ​
