Archbishop Shaw High School is proud to announce the appointment of Mitchell Johnson as the new Head Basketball Coach. Coach Johnson brings a wealth of experience and a deep-rooted connection to the New Orleans basketball community. A distinguished alumnus of St. Augustine High School, he has previously served as both a head coach and a top assistant for the Purple Knights.
Coach Johnson succeeds Wesley Laurendine, who led the Eagles to remarkable success over the past decade, including a state championship game appearance this past year and four consecutive Final Four appearances. Mr. Laurendine recently accepted the head coaching position at Brother Martin High School.
The Archbishop Shaw community extends a warm welcome to Coach Johnson and looks forward to the continued growth and success of the basketball program under his leadership.
