Tuition Assistance

Opportunity for Every Student

Saint John Bosco, in his ministry to serve the young, often identified and encouraged young men who he felt had vocations, inspiring them to pursue a deeper relationship with God and others. In the same spirit, we at Archbishop Shaw believe that becoming a Shaw student is a calling, and we strive to recognize those young men who need encouragement to embrace this path, offering unique financial aid opportunities to help offset the cost of education and make this journey accessible to them.

LA Gator Program

In March 2025, the State of Louisiana launched the LA Gator Program, providing Educational Savings Accounts (ESA) to help families afford non-public school options. This initiative ensures that every child has access to a high-quality education that fits their needs.

The application process is open and described below. There is no downside to apply and there is no application fee. We strongly encourage every Shaw family to apply to the LA Gator Scholarship Program. All families, regardless of their income, will eventually be receiving monies from the state for your son’s tuition.

All students who are recipients of the ACE, ARETE, or Aspiring tuition scholarships should apply for the LA Gator Program since the projected funds awarded are more than what your current scholarship provides.
