8th Grade entering from a Catholic Middle School

Students who attend Catholic elementary schools are invited to join us for important events. Families should make every effort to attend these events to learn more about the school, its atmosphere, and understand student expectations and requirements. Please see the events below for a general timeline of events in the admissions process.

September – October Spend-a-Days Spend-a-Days are coordinated with the Admissions Department with a select number of open dates. Contact us for more information.
October Homecoming Bonfire One of Shaw’s time honored traditions. Join us in the All Saints Hall parking lot. 
October Open House Tours designed for students to see school culture and all that Shaw has to offer.
November Flight Night A fun-filled night for future eagles to experience campus life. 
November 1 Archdiocesan applications posted Applications for the upcoming academic year are posted and opened. Catholic school 7th grade students are provided the applications by their elementary school. PDF
End of November  Archdiocesan applications due The elementary schools send the application and necessary records to the school of choice. PDF
Mid- December  Testing, interviews, and scholarship opportunities are communicated to families.  Families will receive communication from the Admissions department with important information for the admissions process.
January High School Testing Day  Students will take their admissions test to determine eligibility and needs.
January New Student Interviews Students will be scheduled for a 10-minute interview with an Admissions representative to determine candidate suitability and needs.


8th & 9th Grade entering from a non-Catholic Middle School

We recommend all of our 8th & 9th grade students to follow the above mentioned timeline. The main exception is that you only need to complete the Online Application. Applications are accepted past the Archdiocese of New Orleans Catholic High Schools Application (PDF) deadline; however, to get priority admissions, it is best to follow the same timeline and attend events.

10th & 11th Grade - Transfer Students from any High School

We recommend all of our 10th – 11th grade students to follow the above mentioned timeline. The main exception is that you only need to complete the Online Application. Applications are accepted past the Archdiocese of New Orleans Catholic High Schools Application (PDF) deadline; however, to get priority admissions, it is best to follow the same timeline and attend events.

Catholic middle schools send records with the Archdiocesan application (PDF) you complete and submit to them. Please make sure that your current school has the most up-to-date documents below:
