On Friday November 14th, 2014 the student body at Archbishop Shaw attended a presentation entitled Teens, Sex, and the Law. It was given by Stacie LeBlanc who is the executive director of the New Orleans Children’s Advocacy Center and the Audrey Hepburn Children at Risk Center at Children’s Hospital. She is also an assistant District Attorney in Jefferson Parish where she supervises the Felony Child Abuse Division and began the Family Violence Unit. The has a 94% conviction rate.
She came to Shaw to make sure that our boys are informed about the laws in Louisiana especially when it comes to the topics of sex and teenagers and how the interact with social media. With the knowledge of these laws and the heavy consequences that comes from breaking them, our students will have even more reasons to make good choices in their lives.
