Dear Archbishop Shaw Family,
I am happy to announce that I have appointed Mr. Brandon Surrency as Archbishop Shaw’s new Director of Institutional Advancement. Mr. Surrency is currently serving in the multi-faceted role as the Assistant Athletic Director, English teacher, Assistant Wrestling Coach and Director of Public Relations.
Mr. Surrency graduated from Archbishop Shaw High School in 2009. While at Archbishop Shaw, he distinguished himself as a four-year All-State Wrestler, State Champion, and Team Captain of the Eagle Wrestling Team.
Following his graduation from Archbishop Shaw High School, Mr. Surrency attended Southeastern Louisiana University and graduated with a degree in Business Management. In 2016, Mr. Surrency earned a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Southeastern Louisiana University. During his time in graduate school, Mr. Surrency served as both a Graduate Assistant to the Dean of the College of Business Administration and the MBA Director. As a Graduate Assistant, Mr. Surrency served as the Student Body President of Southeastern’s MBA program. He was instrumental in helping to develop and implement a successful recruiting scheme for Southeastern’s MBA program.
Being a positive role model and developing the young is a strong priority for Mr. Surrency. This past school year, Mr. Surrency began a youth wrestling club at Archbishop Shaw High School called the “Eagle Wrestling Academy”. This academy is founded on the pillars of developing character, leadership, accountability, and work ethic, which he refers to as the CLAW Method.
I am happy to welcome Mr. Surrency into his new role in the Archbishop Shaw High School administration. Strongly steeped in the Salesian mission, I know he will work tirelessly for our young men in the spirit of St. John Bosco, who gave his all for the young.
God bless you all!
Rev. Louis J. Molinelli, SDB
