Eagles Play by Play

October 22, 2020

The Shaw Eagles are back and better than ever. Their first game came out to a great 28 to 7 victory against West Jefferson High school. Shaw pushed strong putting up 14 points to West Jeff’s 7 points in the first quarter. The second quarter was stagnant, but the Eagles came back and dominated the 3rd quarter with another 14 points. From this game alone, it’s looking like the Eagles have a bright future ahead of them.

The football team was not the only team to have success with the return of sports. The swimming team competed in the Terrytown meet, where Roy Fitch qualified for state. Good luck to Roy and the swimming team who have a promising year ahead of them. The cross country team has competed in 3 meets already and are preparing for a meet this Saturday at the Hahnville Invitational. They placed in the top 5 in their last 3 meets. Varsity placed 4th in the Southland Steel Invitational, 3rd in the St. Thomas Aquinas Invitational, and 2nd in the Westbank Championship. Junior Varsity placed first in the Southland Steel Invitational. The year of 2020 is a strange and difficult year, but the Eagles are pulling through the hard times like true champions.
