Track & Field At Shaw

Track & Field is a multi-event sport held during the Spring. The season begins in January and ends in May. Practice begins formally during the third week of January.

There are three divisions: junior high (8th and 9th), junior varsity (9th- 11th), and varsity (9th – 12th). Meets are usually conducted on a Friday or Saturday with a typical season being about eight meets. Each division competes against other teams on their own grade level. Students are allowed to try out for and participate in 17 different events. The different events that the students can participate in are:

Archbishop Shaw’s track and field team competes in Class 5A (Known as the Catholic League) for district, regional and state championships.
