Summer Reading

Summer reading assignments help to eliminate the “learning loss” often associated with summer. Therefore, a selection of books has been chosen to afford the student with choices in order to meet varied interests and reading levels.  A brief synopsis of the books is available below the list to aid the selection process, and a list of literary terms is also provided to assist the student with terminology that may be unfamiliar to him on his journal assignments.   Themes brought up in books often mirror reality and require reflection, introspection, and conversations with others.  Web sites such as commonsensemedia.org may also be helpful when determining if you deem the book selection appropriate for your son.

Returning students will enter journals via Turnitin.com.  New students will turn in double-spaced type written submissions on the first day of class.

List of Books for Summer 2015 will be posted in March 2015.
