From the Director of Admissions

Greetings ducoteProspective Parents and Students!

On behalf of the entire Archbishop Shaw family, I’d like to personally thank you for your interest in our school. With over 50 years of experience in educating boys in the Greater New Orleans area, Archbishop Shaw High School has stood strong and maintained rich traditions thanks to the thousands of alumni who have walked our halls.

When you step foot on our beautiful 72-acre campus, you can feel the sense of family and community spirit that helps our students and faculty alike strive for excellence. Rooted in St. John Bosco’s Salesian principles of Reason, Religion, and Kindness, Archbishop Shaw is much more than just a school – we are a place where students can feel safe, forge lifelong friendships, and grow into good, Christian, young men ready to face what life holds for them after graduation. Our philosophy and charism involves knowing our students on a first name basis and assuring them that we care about their success.

We hope that you will schedule a visit with us and let our campus speak for itself. Our admission process is very personal and individualized, consisting of a one-to-one interview and thorough review of transcripts, school and community involvement, and personal character. We believe that our success as a school begins with a careful assessment of our school relative to your needs and expectations, as well as an understanding of how we can provide the best education possible.

Working together, we will strive to provide the best high school experience for your family. I sincerely hope you will consider joining our ranks here at Archbishop Shaw – the place where eagles soar!

Sincerely,

Matthew Ducote ’03
