For over 50 years, Archbishop Shaw has served the young men of the West Bank and surrounding New Orleans area by providing a quality Catholic education rooted in St. John Bosco’s principles of reason, religion, and loving kindness. Students in grades 8-12 enjoy the close-knit, family environment while receiving an exemplary educational experience.
Under the guidance of Salesian priests and brothers, students are provided opportunities to develop self-esteem, confidence, and leadership skills. Our educators strive to build personalized rapport with our students, while at the same time promoting self-discipline. Students develop their relationships with God through daily prayers, monthly school-wide liturgies, seasonal penance services, annual retreats, and service requirements.
Archbishop Shaw does not discriminate neither on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, or national origin nor in the administration of its educational policies, scholarship programs, or other school administered programs. All students interested in joining the Shaw family are encouraged to apply.
All applicants receive a thorough review of academic and disciplinary records (including standardized test scores), and hold a one-to-one interview with a member of our staff. Archbishop Shaw seeks candidates who earn satisfactory academic and conduct grades and possess a strong desire to become part of the Shaw experience.
Prospective students are encouraged to sign up for a Spend-A-Day or Shadow Day, tour our campus at our annual Open House, and attend our Homecoming Bonfire – a timeless Shaw tradition. Families are encouraged to contact the admissions office to arrange a school tour.
