Cheerleaders
Purpose:The purpose of the Archbishop Shaw Cheerleaders is to support and aid in spirit activities for Shaw High School and its athletic programs.
Activities:The cheerleaders participate in many activities such as summer camp, pep rallies,
parades, football and basketball games, state and national competitions, as well as special appearances and events throughout the year.
Tryouts: Any student in good standings attending Archbishop Shaw or Academy of Our Lady high schools may tryout. Tryouts are held annually during the second and/or third weeks in March. Please contact the cheerleader moderators or the school for additional information.
National High School Cheerleading Championships:The Eagle cheerleaders compete annually in the National High School Cheerleading Championships held at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. This event is administered by the Universal Cheerleaders' Assosiation and is the largest and most prestigious cheer competition in the nation. The NHSCC is nationally televised on ESPN and ESPN2.
